NATASHA AND SBUSISO GOLD FOIL AND LETTERPRESS

You know it’s just going to be fabulous when the invite is printed letterpress and foil gold. We absolutely loved these…the design, the paper, the letterpress, the gold finish, the whole celebrity wedding feel that the invite reflected.

We certainly enjoyed printing them. The invites were added to matching envelopes that were finished off with organic digital printed envelope liners. to add that extra finish each envelope was personalised for Natasha and Sbusiso’s guests

On the day stationery included gold foiled menus, thank you cards, foiled table numbers and gold foiled tags that went on the exquisite olive oil gift bottles.

As is evident the subtle touches made all the difference and adding a little something special to your wedding gifts will help you achieve this. Organic gifts like olive oil with a foiled monogram sticker or tag will add that extra special element to your wedding tables. Finish off your tables by following through with your design theme by incorporating guest name tags, this will make yours a wedding to remember.

All in all, this project was a hit.

I am an international wedding and portrait photographer originally from México, now based in South Africa. I absolutely love traveling and going to places I’ve never been, I can’t stay in one place for too long without doing some sort of travel. I often say I have gypsy feet! I try to visit México every year for work and to visit my friends and family. Not to mention I get to eat as many tacos as I want! Every time I travel to México I try to make a stopover in New York City to visit friends and get energized by the city that never sleeps.

This love affair I have with traveling has given me the opportunity to meet and work with awesome photographers around the world. I have experience working in Botswana, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, USA, and México. Thorne and Daughters Wines was started in 2012 by John and Tasha Seccombe to produce authentic wines in the beautiful Western Cape. It was with great delight that John and Tasha Seccombe approached us for the printing of their amazing business cards.

OUR NEW BRANDING

We’ve always wanted our branding to represent our love for things hand-crafted, and to match the care and attention-to-detail that we put into the winemaking. We’ve explored a lot of techniques and materials to really find the elements that reflect our approach to what we are producing. The branding is starting to come together incredibly well now, and we’re really excited to start showing it off.

Jan and Rohan at Fanakalo in Stellenbosch have been instrumental in pulling together our barely conceived ideas into something cohesive. We knew from the beginning that we would need their fresh, unfettered approach to bring this all to life.

Our business cards are the first manifestation of our new branding, and we are enormously proud of them. We engaged the superbly talented calligrapher, Jane Farr (of Carmel, Indiana, of all places!), to do the lettering for our logo. It was really important to us that the original was done by hand to achieve the right feel. It is a constant delight that we are able to reach out into the creative world and join forces with skilled people to create what’s in our heads.

We’d originally intended to produce our wine labels using the time honoured and wonderfully tactile techniques of letterpress printing, but we ultimately decided to go with a simpler technical approach to the labels due to the complicated logistics of adhesives and curved bottle shapes. We couldn’t quite let go of the idea of using letterpress, and so we approached the friendly and creative pair of Claire and Chandre at CottonCloud Letterpress to do our business cards. The box of freshly printed cards was definitely one of the best presents for this year! Wow, they just look fantastic and we’ve had such an amazing response from everyone who has received one!

HENRY AND KATE LETTERPRESS AND LASER CUTTING

Pastels are always a great way to go especially when you have an organic themed wedding. Henry and Kate asked for if we could assist with the printing of their wedding invites including the laser cutting of the elements for their wedding tables. Their stunning invite design matched their soft pink and green pastel tones to perfection. They bundled their invite, directions, and information cards with a simple string brown string and inserted them into an organically recycled envelope that was finished off with a matching envelope liner.

Individual laser cut name tags we added to each table and were a great way to make each guest feel special. They were matched together with some letterpressed menu cards and lasercut table numbers were placed inside single floral glasses. We added small succulent plants to complete the overall beautiful rustic feel.

The table seating charts were printed individually for each table and placed on some chicken wire with miniature pegs to add to the overall look and feel.

We love being asked to feature our work in magazines, we really feel humbled everytime a magazine calls to have our work published. Letterpressed navy blue invites accompanied by matching name tags, organic green flowers and personalised laser cut table names were the order of the day resulting in the wonderful rustic feel that the magazine was after.

It’s always great to see the final result especially when published and we had such fun doing it too.
